Why are there different exam prices? APMG charges less if you are a member of APMP (it’s $170 to become a member here).

All prices exclude VAT (because companies are generally the ones paying), but you can see the inclusive price in the explanation under each option.

What info do I need before paying? expand
  • You will need an APMP ID if you buy the bundled exam options (even non-members) – see instructions here
  • You will get a VAT receipt if you need it to claim back on expenses
  • We take credit cards, PayPal, bank payments (some countries), and buttons (not really).
Need an invoice before paying?

If you need an invoice to get approvals and then pay later by bank, let us know the details and we’ll be in touch.

Thanks for helping me to pass my Foundation exam!

This course is brilliant for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the bidding process , knowing the BOK and importantly passing the exam. Your self-study lectures were suitable for my busy schedule and you also provided extra live classes. You made registering for the exam stress free and you were always on hand to help. Without you I wouldn’t have passed. Thank you so much! I will certainly return for the next set of courses for my career in Bid Writing!

Great course

I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in building a strong foundation in bidding. It’s an excellent resource for beginners, offering clear insights into essential bidding practices, while also serving as a valuable refresher for seasoned professionals. 5 stars

Clear and Informative Course

I wasn’t sure how much time I would need to dedicate to this course prior to starting. I found the side menu with clear headings very helpful as, after taking the practice exam, I could easily go back over any areas that I felt I needed to build my strength on. I hadn’t expected the included downloadable resources so these felt like a real bonus.
I’m about to take the exam and I have every confidence I’ll pass based on the knowledge learnt in this course.

FAQs

Do I need to be an APMP member to take the exam? expand

No, but you do need an APMP ID – if you’re not sure how to get on, then go here.

Members get cheaper exams.

Non-members still need an ID from APMP to access the exam (no, I don’t really know why).

How many questions and how long is the exam? expand

The exam tests your knowledge of proposal and bid management best practices in 40 entry-level and early career competencies. The exam is:

  • 75 questions
  • Multiple choice
  • Pass-fail
  • Open-book

The exam is timed, and the candidate has up to 65 minutes to answer all questions.

What language is the exam in? expand

Candidates may choose to take the APMP Foundation Certification (v4)  exam in English, Spanish, and German, or the Foundation Certification (v3) in Japanese.

Our training is for the v4 certification.

What if I fail the exam? expand

You won’t fail!

But in theory you can:

  1. Retake the examination again once you are ready (exam fee due again)
  2. Appeal your result with APMG International. Refer to this page for details: Complaints, Concerns and Appeals
What do I need to be eligible for Foundation? expand

Candidates should have at least one year of experience in a bid and proposals environment; this experience does not have to be continuous. Time spent working in sales support and/or marketing also applies.

Your experience may be verified with a reference you choose. This is done on a random sample basis. You may not be asked for a reference, and/or the reference may not be checked.

Candidates do not have to be a member of APMP to take the exam, but the cost for non-member candidates is more than the cost of membership.

Is there a Study Guide? expand

The exam tests your understanding of the APMP Body of Knowledge – which members can access here (and that includes in the exam itself, so it’s worth being a member).

There is a pdf Study Guide for sale from APMP. It’s the same material as the BoK. And in the training.
